THE CLEANING PROCESS

Stain-n-Paint uses the best equipment and products to get your job done right. Cleaning your home, deck, fence, garage floor, driveway or whatever the project, is the first step in the process of adding longevity to your product and increasing the appearance of your project.

Deck and wood prep:

deck before and after

If there are products currently on the deck whether oil based or water based latex, they may have to be stripped off. Then the wood is brightened with a mildewcide treatment. This process gets ALL of the grey, mold, mildew, mill glaze, and dirt out of the wood so that the pores are opened and the wood is clean for the staining process. Then after 30 minutes or so, we pressure wash the mildewcide completely out. This process is difficult for the beginners and most homeowners. If one is not careful, the wood may be damaged and there may be lines and splintering which will then have to be completely sanded down or when it is stained…the imperfections will now be sealed in.

Additionally, we reccomend sanding horizontal surfaces to open pores and to smooth surfaces in most cases as well as taking those painstaking slivers. Planing old deck boards make them look brand new!! No more Grey ugly deck boards!!!! We also nail in the nail, screw in the screws, replace deck boards as needed to bring back the structural integrity to “LIKE NEW”.

Garage Floors and concrete surfaces:

We grind mostly all of our  floors with diamond grinders. This process gives the concrete the adhesion qualities it needs for longevity. There may be peeling and failure if the floor had a smooth surface anywhere on the floor before the coating is applied. Unless its a new floor without a sealer. Then we just clean it. We also chase (cut into) the cracks and fix the spalling(holes) that are traditionally caused by salt. This process is important in keeping moisture from getting up to our floor coating preventing it from possible failure. Then, we fortify the cracks and holes. We then use hand diamond grinders to grind  them level and at the same time giving the surface adhesion quatities. This gives a brand new look to your garage floor or concrete surface as well as protecting it.
